Ukraine: Proxy war

It's Russia vs the Ukraine, but who is really fighting whom?

The equipment is American, British, German, and it's not being sold on the open market for a fair price to the Ukraine; Russia cannot also buy some.

As for the drones, they are mainly American. but where are  they being controlled from? Kyiv? Or how about, more likely, via satellite links, Creech USAF base, Nevada, home of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Battlelab, and an Overseas Contingency Operations control centre.

Creech USAF base: Ukrainian defence HQ

The USA and UK both have special forces on the ground in the Ukraine. We know the SAS are there because three British soldiers died and it was reported they were ex-SAS but not members of the Ukrainian foreign legion. So, Brits, but not working for the Ukrainians. That means under British Government command, and "ex-" because they were dead.

The special forces will be the spotters for drones controlled from inside the United States. And also minders for a few British and American technical staff in Western Ukraine. Drones can be controlled from the other side of the world, but takeoff, landing, refueling, and maintenance has to be carried out locally.

Spare parts and general equipment are also an issue. The drones themselves can be flown in from Poland, but other stuff needs to be trucked in. There's likely to be a continual trickle of Ukrainian military truck drivers crossing into Poland to pick up supplies, and of course, the C-17 Globemasters will be flying into Poland every day from the United States.

Russia is really fighting America.
